This National Academy of Sciences-funded study is a mixed-methods, longitudinal, epidemiological study of climate change and mental health on the U.S. Gulf Coast (with Drs.  S. Banerjee, E. Alison Holman, and Roxane Cohen Silver).

Mindful Self-Compassion Intervention to Address Co-occurring PTSD and Substance Use in Unhoused Women

This Department of Defense-funded study uses a community-engaged approach to explore how a self-compassion intervention might help reduce PTSD and substance use in women who have experienced homelessness and trauma.

Compounding Crises: Facing Hurricane Season and Climate Hazards in the Era of COVID-19.

This National Science Foundation-funded study examines how people respond to the threat of hurricanes and the escalating climate crisis in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic (with Gabrielle Wong-Parodi).

Coping with Compounding Risk and Uncertainty: A Longitudinal Study of Cascading Collective Stress in a Probability-Based U.S. Sample

This NSF-funded study examines the psychological impact of societal turbulence, including climate change, the 2024 U.S. Election, geopolitical instability, and related existential threats (with Drs. E. Alison Holman, and Roxane Cohen Silver).

Mindfulness-based Intervention to Address PTSD in Trauma-exposed, Homeless Women

This National Institute of Health-funded, mixed methods project takes a bio-psycho-social approach to understanding the experience of trauma in unhoused women and how community-based, mindfulness interventions might help alleviating adverse traumatic stress symptoms and associated problems (e.g., substance use, depression).
